The first Artificial Intelligence system for public sector telephone services is set to launch by early 2026 at the Hellenic Land Registry. This innovative system will connect with public databases to offer tailored services to both citizens and professionals upon verification.
The digital answering machine, an extension of the chat mAlgov, will respond directly to inquiries, track requests needing additional processing, and automatically generate digital service tickets on behalf of citizens. Preliminary tests indicate a high level of reliability and performance for the system. Once activated, it will eliminate unanswered calls and the necessity for in-person visits to land registry offices, thereby easing congestion and enhancing service quality.
As Stelios Sakaretsios, president of the Cadastral Office, stated in an interview with “Proto Thema,” “the AI-powered digital answering machine is more than just a new feature; it signifies the end of prolonged waits and heralds a new era of service. By interfacing with government databases and functioning in real time, we are developing a system that comprehends citizen requests, categorizes, and manages them without delays, without physical interaction, and without wasted time. Our goal is for the Land Registry to exemplify top-notch service and efficiency. Thanks to AI, we are transitioning from a time of unanswered calls to one characterized by intelligent responses.”
