The PPC Group is set to begin construction on two new energy storage stations (BESS) in Western Macedonia.
The first is the “Melitis 1” station, boasting a total installed capacity of 48 MW and 96 MWh, located near the photovoltaic installations being developed by the company in Western Macedonia.
The second station, “Ptolemais 4,” will feature a total installed capacity of 50 MW and a capacity of 100 MWh, situated in the area of the former Ptolemais mines.
Both stations will utilize liquid-cooled battery arrays featuring cutting-edge LFP technology, ensuring optimal energy utilization and safety during operation.
Completion of the “Melitis 1” and “Ptolemais 4” projects is anticipated within this year.
These facilities are designed to support the functioning of adjacent photovoltaic plants and enhance the stability of the electrical system.
By operating these stations and future energy storage plants, PPC Group aims to optimize the management of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), maximize their contributions, and fully harness the potential for electricity generation from RES.
