Two senior officials from Mexico City, closely associated with Mayor Clara Brugada, were attacked and killed in a central district, as reported by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
During her daily news briefing, Sheinbaum indicated that the assailants likely arrived on a motorcycle.
The deceased were Jimena Gusman, the mayor’s personal secretary, and adviser Jose Munyos.
“This is an unacceptable event. We will provide the mayor with all the necessary support,” the president stated.
A statement from Brugada on Platform X emphasized that “there will be no impunity; those responsible will be apprehended and brought to justice.”
