On Tuesday afternoon in Thermi, Thessaloniki, executives from the National Intelligence Service were targeted by Turkish mobsters while traveling in their vehicle.
The alarming incident occurred around 4 p.m. when three individuals in a silver jeep with foreign plates stopped and opened fire on the car carrying the EYP officers. Shots were fired right in the middle of the street, yet fortunately, no NIS officers or bystanders were harmed.
Authorities have extensively searched the area in an effort to locate the suspects, and operations are currently underway.
This situation is being treated as extremely serious by organized crime units and marks a dangerous escalation by the Turkish mafia, which has been linked to more than ten murders in Greece since September 2023.
