Former President Donald Trump has once again urged Jerome Powell, chairman of the US Federal Reserve (FED), to lower interest rates. His comments come after payroll processing company ADP reported a decline in new job creation for May.
“The ADP figures are out. It’s ‘too late’—Jerome Powell needs to reduce the rate immediately. It’s unbelievable. Europe has already cut rates nine times,” Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social platform.
For months, Trump has criticized the FED, particularly targeting Powell for maintaining high interest rates.
He frequently vocalizes his discontent toward the Fed chair and has expressed a desire to see him replaced, although he has no plans to pursue his removal.
