The focus of two professional events in Stockholm in May 2025 was on promoting sustainable tourism and highlighting experiential travel in Greece to the Swedish audience. The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) Scandinavia Service actively participated in these events.
1. Resebranschens Vårmöte – May 13 – Stockholm
With an increasing interest from the Scandinavian market in Greek holidays, the GNTO took part in the annual conference organized by the Association of Swedish Travel Agents (Svenska Resebyraforeningen, SRF) for the second time this year on May 13.
The event attracted over 200 industry professionals and media representatives, focusing on enhancing tourism development in the Swedish market relative to other Scandinavian countries, as well as improving connectivity, infrastructure, and accessibility.
Accompanied by Greek music, the event concluded with a dinner featuring delicious Greek cuisine for all attendees.
Didrik von Seth, CEO of SRF, expressed his gratitude to the GNTO for its participation.
Eftychia Christina Aivalioti, head of the GNTO Foreign Service for Scandinavia, addressed the attendees, outlining the key components of the GNTO’s international promotion strategy.
During B2B meetings with tourism organizations, media representatives, and travel agencies, participants learned about Greece’s year-round tourism offerings.
2. ANTOR ANNUAL EVENT “MEET THE WORLD” – May 15 – Stockholm
On May 15, the GNTO Scandinavia Office also participated in the “MEET THE WORLD” B2B event.
This gathering featured over 25 national tourism organizations, including Spain, France, Portugal, Mexico, Tunisia, Cyprus, and Poland, alongside 60 buyers and media representatives.
Workshops facilitated discussions between the GNTO Office and members of the Swedish media (including Vagabond, Travel News, and First Class), as well as travel agencies like Ticket.se and Lime Travel. The event highlighted the growing interest in Greece among Scandinavian travelers.
In the second segment, travel writer and communication consultant Hanna Anfelter delivered a presentation on sustainable tourism development, emphasizing the role of specialized tourism types—a key aspect of the GNTO’s promotional strategy.
