The entrance examinations for 2025 will commence tomorrow, Friday, May 30, 2025, starting with the exam in Modern Greek Language and Literature. This test is for students aiming for one of the 68,788 university placements available for the academic year 2025-26.
Candidates from General Lyceums (GEL) will take their exams on Friday, May 30, while those from Vocational Lyceums (EPAL) will begin on Saturday, May 31.
It is important to note that Modern Greek Language and Literature is the sole General Education subject for GEL candidates. From Monday, June 2, to Friday, June 6, they will conduct exams on orientation-specific subjects.
The exams will begin at 08:30, and candidates should arrive at the exam venues by 08:00. Each exam will last for three hours.
Additionally, EPAL candidates are reminded that their nationwide exams will start on May 31 with the Modern Greek language exam.
Essential Guidelines
Candidates should ensure they have the following items:
- Identity card or passport
- Candidate’s exam card for the nationwide exams
- Blue or black ink pen
Note: Pencils are prohibited unless specified. Candidates may bring an eraser and a sharpener. - Geometric tools (if applicable)
- A bottle of water or juice
- A wristwatch (but not a smart watch)
Conversely, the following items are not permitted:
- Books, notebooks, or notes
- Any form of correction fluid (white-out), whether liquid or tape
- Mobile phones and other communication devices, including calculators
Mobile Phone Policy
Bringing any mobile device, even if powered off, into the exam hall is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification. Candidates must surrender their phones to the exam supervisor, who will store them securely. Phones can be retrieved after the exam concludes.
Handling of the Answer Booklet
Candidates should use their answer booklet’s pages carefully, as no additional booklets will be provided. The available pages should suffice for all responses. The last pages can be used for rough work, but candidates must label them “ROUGH”; these pages will not be graded.
While noting personal details and answers, candidates should refrain from folding or crumpling the cover or pages of the booklet.
