Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoker has announced a three-day national mourning period to honor the victims of the attack at a school in Graz.
Tomorrow at 11:00 AM (local time), a minute of silence will be observed nationwide.
According to local police director Gerald Ortner, the assailant was a 21-year-old resident of Graz who possessed two legally obtained firearms. The gunman, a former student of the school, reportedly took his own life in a bathroom within the premises, as per police reports.
Home Affairs Minister Gerhard Carner confirmed that the individual had not completed his education at the school.
Over 300 police officers quickly arrived at the scene and began evacuating students and staff. Authorities have stated that the motives behind the attack remain unclear, and the school will remain closed until further notice.
