The suspected murderer of a 41-year-old Albanian man in Rafina is now in police custody. Initial reports indicate that the suspect, also of Albanian nationality, is 49 years old.
The victim was discovered yesterday around noon, dead near a vineyard in Rafina.

According to sources from protothema.gr, the tragic events began on Wednesday morning when the victim’s wife contacted authorities. She reported that her husband had called her, stating that a specific individual had shot him in the face and asked her to find help.
Investigations revealed that the perpetrator, the victim, and two others met in Artemida the night before. They then got into a vehicle driven by the person identified by the victim as the shooter. Shortly after stopping at the intersection of Pefkon and Arionos streets in Rafina, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the victim in the cheek.
The 41-year-old managed to escape on foot, called his wife to inform her of the shooting, but soon succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
It’s important to note that both the victim and the suspect had prior encounters with law enforcement for drug-related offenses.
