A nurse at Tzaneio Hospital committed a grave error during a blood transfusion, leading to a 62-year-old woman being intubated in the ICU with serious complications.
Reports indicate that the incident took place last Tuesday night (March 5) when the nurse mistakenly mixed up two women in the ward who required transfusions.
The nurse administered the incorrect blood type to the 62-year-old patient, resulting in multiple strokes and severe injuries. She is currently intubated in the ICU, where her condition is stable but critical. Doctors have already performed surgery to address a hematoma that formed on her head.
The family of the 62-year-old woman has filed a complaint, and authorities are seeking the nurse for arrest.
