Today, a second group of Russian soldiers was repatriated from captivity in Ukraine, along with a number of Ukrainian prisoners of war who surrendered during the exchange, according to reports from Russian news agencies citing the Defense Ministry.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated, as reported by TASS, Ria Novosti, and Interfax, that “a second group of Russian soldiers under 25 years old was returned from areas under the control of the Kiev regime. In exchange, a group of prisoners of war was released by the Ukrainian armed forces.”
On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that they received injured soldiers requiring immediate medical attention.
Yesterday, the two countries carried out a prisoner exchange involving individuals under 25 following an agreement reached during direct negotiations in Istanbul on June 2.
