A 25-year-old man of Pakistani descent, who was serving a sentence for illegal weapon possession and causing serious injury, has escaped from the rural prison in Chania.
The incident occurred at the Agia rural prison facility in Chania.
As reported by flashnews.gr, the inmate was discovered missing during the routine morning headcount on Monday. Authorities quickly recognized it as an escape and initiated a search operation to locate him.
