The London Underground network and the Elizabeth line are facing significant challenges due to a widespread power outage that struck on Monday afternoon. Reports indicate that the blackout impacted the southwestern area of the city around 14:30 (local time), with power restored shortly thereafter. Despite this, delays and service interruptions persist, causing chaos for commuters.
The Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines have been suspended, while trains are not operating between London Bridge and Finchley Road on the Jubilee line. Service on the Northern line is disrupted between Euston and Kennington, as well as south of Stockwell, leading to serious travel complications.
The Elizabeth line is also experiencing substantial delays, with services completely halted between Abbey Wood and Paddington. Waterloo station, typically served by the Jubilee, Northern, and Bakerloo lines, is heavily impacted, forcing thousands of passengers to seek alternative routes.
Compounding the situation, the London Overground’s Suffragette line has been fully suspended due to a fire alert.
Travel throughout London has become even more challenging, as Transport for London (TfL) is facing technical issues on its website, with numerous information pages failing to load, leaving passengers without clear guidance.
