The historic sailing ship “Nave Italia” arrived at the port of Piraeus on June 18, where it was greeted by the Piraeus Port Authority S.A. The ship remained docked at the cruise pier for the remainder of the week, providing a unique therapeutic and educational experience at sea for children and young individuals facing mental and emotional challenges.
Staying true to its commitment to inclusion, community contribution, and social cohesion, PPA S.A. supported this significant initiative by offering various resources.
On the same day, the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Greece visited the ship, underscoring the emblematic significance of “Nave Italia”’s mission and celebrating the strong Greek-Italian cooperation in the realm of social solidarity.
“Nave Italia” is a brig-type sailing ship, measuring 61 meters with a sail area of 1,300 square meters, making it the largest vessel of its kind in the world. It has been part of the Italian Navy since 2007.
