The incident occurred at the crossroads of Konstantinoupoleos and Dodekanisou Streets, close to St. Sarafis Square—a notoriously narrow area that frequently leads to disputes among drivers. A 46-year-old woman was driving with her mother when they approached an oncoming vehicle. They signaled to the elderly male driver, approximately 70 years old, to reverse so they could pass through. Instead, he halted his car in the middle of the road, refusing to budge.
Shortly after, a second man, presumed to be the elderly driver’s son, appeared. According to the victim’s mother, he began verbally attacking the woman, kicked her car, causing damage, and when she stepped out to confront him, he violently assaulted her. He repeatedly punched and kicked her in the head, jaw, and chest, resulting in serious injuries.
The assailant quickly fled the scene but was later apprehended by police.
