This exhibition commemorates European Natura 2000 Day on May 21st, celebrating the establishment of the largest network of protected areas worldwide. Showcasing 41 stunning photographs, it highlights the incredible beauty of Greek nature, captured by esteemed photographers recognized over three years in the “Natura 2000 – Click in Nature” national photo contest.

As visitors embark on this photographic “journey,” they will traverse from the heights of Taygetos to the lush Thessalian plain, swim alongside sea slugs, scale the White Mountains, explore Zagori, and be captivated by the breathtaking Dragon Lake in Tymfi.
Among the species featured are wild bees, butterflies, vultures, Dalmatian pelicans, and lesser kestrels, all wonderfully captured and on display for a limited time in central Athens.

Each image underscores the significance of conserving biodiversity and the necessity for people and nature to coexist harmoniously. The Natura 2000 network represents more than just a map of protected regions; it’s a commitment to the future of our planet—a collective initiative to preserve what we cherish most: our natural environment!
