New information has surfaced regarding Israel’s recent strike, which targeted senior Iranian officials.
According to an Israeli security official speaking to Fox News, Israel successfully misled senior commanders of the Iranian air force into convening for a meeting.
“We implemented specific strategies that allowed us to gain insights about them, which we then utilized to shape their actions,” the official stated. “We anticipated that this would result in a meeting—more importantly, we knew how to keep them there.”
The official further emphasized that the attacks exceeded Israel’s initial expectations in terms of success. Reports indicate that air defense systems and ballistic missiles meant to be used against Israel were also targeted for precautionary reasons.
Notably, at least 20 high-ranking Iranian commanders, including the leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, were reported killed in Friday’s Israeli strikes, as confirmed by two regional sources cited by Reuters. This operation represents one of the most lethal assaults on Iranian military leadership in recent years amidst rising tensions.
Previously, Benjamin Netanyahu described the airstrikes—referred to as Operation Rising Lion—as “a precise military action aimed at countering the Iranian threat to Israel’s very existence.”
He asserted that the operation “will persist as long as necessary to eliminate this threat.”
