The partnership between Wide Media Group, the managing entity, and the Municipality of Aspropyrgos is officially concluding, with Attica TV entering a new phase starting in June. This announcement was made this afternoon by the Group’s CEO, Yiannis Dallas, during an internal briefing for employees.
Reports indicate that the managing company will not extend its collaboration with the municipality and will stop managing the TV station at the end of May. Programming on Attica TV, which Wide Media Group has overseen from 5:00 PM onward, concludes today, Monday, May 26.
Mr. Dallas stated that considerable efforts were made for the Group to gain full ownership of the station, as part of a strategy to establish a unified and robust television brand. However, a mutually agreeable arrangement could not be achieved.
While the management’s active involvement will conclude in late May, the company will continue to meet its contractual obligations for producing municipal content until September. Additionally, an employee exit program has been introduced, offering severance packages of up to six months’ salary to ensure a smooth and equitable transition for all.
“I’m incredibly proud of the team that has been assembled over these years. You demonstrated integrity, dedication, and consistency. Everything we achieved, we achieved together – and that won’t change,”
said Christos Machairas, Attica TV’s News Director, in a message to the staff.
