On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, will travel to Brussels to attend the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union, specifically in the format of Defense Ministers.
The Defense Ministers are anticipated to discuss the EU’s Defense Readiness, the implementation of the White Paper, and the ReArm Europe initiative. Current developments in Ukraine will also be part of the agenda, featuring contributions from NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and, via videoconference, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
After the Council concludes, a meeting of the Steering Board of the European Defence Agency (EDA) will be held.
