Mitsotakis on the Council of State’s decision regarding non-state universities – An end to dogmas, our country ceases to be a global exception

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis termed yesterday a “historic” day, highlighting the Council of State’s ruling that affirmed the constitutionality of the government’s law concerning non-state universities.

“Our country is no longer an exception alongside Cuba. With the Council of State’s endorsement, we are breaking free from the taboos and dogmas that used the Constitution to keep us entrenched in irrationality and stagnation,” the Prime Minister noted in a TikTok post today.

He added, “For decades, countless Greek families have sent their children abroad simply because they lacked the opportunity to attend non-state universities at home. Starting from the next academic year, we will not only stop forcing these students to leave Greece, but we will also attract international students. Additionally, we anticipate significant new investments, a developmental impact, and the creation of many new jobs. Let’s remember, all of this is being achieved alongside enhancing the Greek public university system. We are making progress! Ultimately, advancement comes not from mere slogans, but through diligent work and bold reforms.”
