Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is currently in Berlin, where he is set to meet with the newly appointed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The Greek Prime Minister is the first European leader to visit the chancellery since Merz took office.
Government sources indicate that the discussions will center around the economy, investment, defense, bilateral trade, illegal immigration, and key European and international issues. Topics such as transatlantic relations, the situation in Ukraine, developments in the Middle East, and competitiveness will also be on the agenda.
Schedule for Mitsotakis’ Visit
The prime minister is scheduled to meet with Friedrich Merz at 13:10 (Greek time), followed by a working lunch a few hours later. Both leaders will address the media at 14:30 GMT.
In the evening, Mitsotakis will deliver a speech as the guest of honor at the annual conference of the Economic Council Germany (20:20), where he will be recognized for his government’s reforms and the recovery of the Greek economy.
