Mitsotakis after the intervention at the Legal School’s snack bar: “Pathetic images, the space should have the image it deserves” – Message to the Rector

He described the images from the so-called “self-managed snack bar of the Law School” as “pathetic” and urged the Rector to take action to restore the space, suggesting it should function either as a standard snack bar or a communal area for all students.

“During two recent interventions in universities, the police cleared the occupation of the so-called ‘self-managed snack bar’ at the Law School. The conditions encountered by police officers, alongside the images we all witnessed, are unacceptable. They do not represent the standards expected of a university in a European nation. We will persist in our efforts to reclaim university spaces that have been occupied for years, as demonstrated yesterday at the Law School. Now, Mr. Rector, it’s your turn to fulfill your responsibilities. Restore the space to its rightful condition and ensure it operates either as a regular snack bar or a shared area for all students. We are here to support you in this endeavor,” stated Mr. Mitsotakis.
