Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis remarked, “Sadly, the moral and political decline of the opposition not only persists but is worsening.” This statement came in response to the coalition formed by MPs from the Course of Freedom, Hellenic Solution, Nike, and Stefanos Kasselakis, who endorsed a proposal by Maria Karistianou regarding the incident in Tempi.
He further stated, “The support of 32 members of the Hellenic Parliament for the indictment of Kyriakos Mitsotakis on charges of high treason marks a dark chapter in our nation’s political landscape. This isn’t merely about targeting the Prime Minister, elected by the Greek public, but rather an unfounded accusation lacking any legal, logical, or moral grounding, crossing all bounds of reason.”
Marinakis continued, “This proposal represents another shameless attempt to exploit the national tragedy in Tempi. The MPs involved, disregarding the truth, are seeking to gain votes in a deeply disrespectful manner, dishonoring the memory of 57 victims and undermining the widespread demand for justice and truth. They have learned nothing from previous allegations of illegal activities and supposed cover-ups.”
“The citizens affected by the Tempi incident are calling for justice and truth, unaffected by the desperate attempts at manipulation by opposition parties.”
