Aphrodite Latinopoulou announced in an Instagram post that she has initiated legal action against the National Gallery regarding the well-known exhibition “The Seduction of the Bizarre – Intermediate Space.”
“Today, as a lawyer and as a Greek Orthodox Christian woman, I am filing a lawsuit against the National Gallery. An injunction will also be sought. Someone needed to speak out. Our funds have been used to create an exhibition that mocks our faith, where our Saints are depicted as caricatures and our sacred symbols are disrespected in the name of art,” stated the MEP and leader of the “Voice of Reason.” She added, “Would they dare to ridicule Allah? Would they dare to disrespect Allah? The Gallery is not the private domain of elitist progressives who indulge their complexes regarding orthodoxy. It is a public legal entity funded by our taxes—mine, yours, every Greek’s.”
“They have misinterpreted our tolerance as weakness. It is time to establish some order. Now Greek Justice will take over. The freedom of art ends where the insult to our Faith begins,” Latinopoulou emphasized.
