Iran reportedly attempted to launch an attack on Israelis in Cyprus, but the Republic of Cyprus successfully prevented the assault, according to Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
“Due to the efforts of the Cypriot security agencies, in collaboration with Israeli security services, the terrorist attack was averted,” Sa’ar stated.
The minister did not specify the nature of the attack or when it took place.

In related news, Cypriot authorities have confirmed the arrest of a British national on suspicion of terrorism and espionage-related offenses.
Reports from Cyprus indicate that the suspect had been surveilling the British military base in Akrotiri and a Cypriot base since mid-April.
It remains unclear if there is a connection between this individual and the plot mentioned by the Israeli minister.
