INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE) showcased its advanced systems in Secure Tactical Communications, Command & Control, Hybrid Power Systems, and Electronic Missile Systems at DEFEA 2025.
IDE highlighted its involvement in European Research & Development initiatives for defense, particularly in Unmanned Systems and Tactical Communications, which are co-funded by the European Union. Company leaders emphasized that IDE is experiencing significant growth.
CEO George Troullinos discussed the company’s accelerated growth following its acquisition by the IAI Group, driven by investments in new production lines and infrastructure, along with enhancing its workforce with specialized scientific talent.
He also elaborated on the company’s vision and accomplishments over the past 30 years, establishing IDE as a leading defense technology firm in Greece, adept at addressing emerging national security challenges. Additionally, he underscored IDE’s strong collaborations with domestic suppliers, subcontractors, global defense organizations, universities, and research institutes to foster innovation.
Order Backlog Triples
Guy Barlev, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Systems, Missiles & Space Group at Israel Aerospace Industry (IAI), noted that “two years ago, IAI made a decisive choice to invest in Greece’s defense industry and collaborate with IDE to build a shared future.” He added, “Since then, IDE has excelled, tripling its order backlog and steadily increasing its sales while consistently meeting customer demands.”
The IDE exhibit attracted visits from various dignitaries, including Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Vasilis Kikilias, General Director of the General Directorate of Defense Ioannis Bouras, Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs from the Armed Forces, Members of Parliament, and official delegations from foreign countries. Meetings were held with government representatives and defense industry partners focused on implementing NATO and other international programs of interest.
