A series of significant changes are proposed in the new draft law concerning the Traffic Code, which was presented in Parliament on Saturday morning.
This draft law aims to criminalize several high-risk behaviors, such as using a mobile phone while driving, failing to yield to railway vehicles, breaching the red or mobile barrier at level railway crossings, parking at these crossings, driving under the influence of alcohol, and operating a vehicle without a valid driving license.
Additionally, motorcycle riders will be held accountable for ensuring their passengers wear helmets, with fines applicable for non-compliance. The proposal also includes reducing speed limits in residential areas and prohibiting taxis from using bus lanes.
