Hatzidakis: The growth of the economy, the reduction of tax evasion and the Digital Job Card brought the social dividend

Kostis Hatzidakis shared insights about the origin of the social dividend in a recent post.

In a TikTok clip, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed, “I’m curious about the source of funding for the new support measures. Did we uncover a money center?” He explained, “The answer lies in the growth of the economy, along with the implementation of two critical reforms: the 11 initiatives aimed at reducing tax evasion and the rollout of the Digital Job Card.

These initiatives have transformed into a social dividend benefiting renters, low-income workers, and individuals with disabilities, while also bolstering the Public Investment Programme. I’m proud to have played a role in advancing these reforms, both as Minister of Labour and Minister of Finance.

These reforms not only promote economic growth but also enhance social cohesion.
