Among public employees, 66% are in favor of ending job permanency, while 79% of public servants and 88% of the general population advocate for performance evaluations in the public sector to enhance efficiency and remove those who fail to meet standards.
Moreover, a significant majority of citizens endorse additional evaluations for educators, with 73.4% expressing a desire for oversight in university settings. Additionally, 78% support the installation of cameras on university campuses, and 71.1% believe that individuals responsible for damages and vandalism in institutions should cover the costs.
Support for these reforms spans across political affiliations, with 82.5% of New Democracy voters in the European elections backing the abolition of job permanency. Following this, 76.9% of PASOK voters, 66.9% of SYRIZA voters, and 62% of KKE voters also showed support. Overall, 76.2% of the Greek populace is in favor of these changes, recognizing their potential to facilitate the dismissal of underperforming employees.
Concerning security in universities, the survey indicates that 60% of individuals aged 17-34 favor the installation of cameras in university spaces. Support increases with age, reaching 83% among those over 65. Conversely, a left-leaning majority of 64.7% opposes the installation of cameras, with 52.8% against restricted access to universities.
Citizens tend to favor stricter regulation of educational institutions, with 89.9% agreeing that those responsible for damages and vandalism should be held accountable, and 78.2% supporting controlled access to university campuses. Furthermore, 76.2% agree with expelling students convicted of serious offenses, and 73.4% favor the installation of cameras within university premises.
