FARAD S.A. has signed a new agreement with Naval Group Hellas, a subsidiary of the French shipbuilding giant Naval Group, during the international exhibition DEFEA 2025.
The agreement underscores the expertise, competitiveness, and enhanced role that Greek manufacturing firms, along with the wider Greek industry, can fulfill within equipment programs.
Details of the Agreement
This agreement represents a major step in the long-term partnership between FARAD S.A. and Naval Group, a prominent player in the European naval defense sector. Over the next five years, FARAD S.A. will serve as a maintenance provider for the Hellenic Navy’s three new FDI (Frégate de Défense et d’Intervention) frigates, currently under construction by Naval Group. Under the terms of the agreement, FARAD S.A. will deliver a comprehensive array of technical maintenance services, ensuring the vessels’ operational readiness and long-term efficiency. The company will leverage its extensive expertise to supply high-performance heat exchangers and provide maintenance for key systems on the frigates.
Bolstering the Greek Industrial Position in Complex Naval Programs
“The signing of this agreement emphasizes our intention to foster and expand our collaboration with FARAD S.A., which is already involved in the construction of the FDI frigates and will extend to future shipbuilding and service initiatives,” stated Benoit Chapalain, CEO of Naval Group Hellas.
