KIEFER, a prominent Greek company specializing in construction and energy, and one of Greece’s pioneering AI manufacturers, has unveiled two groundbreaking innovations: Sophea.AI, the first large language model (LLM) designed for the Greek language, and Hyperion-X, a modular AI platform focused on energy trading and optimization.
Sophea.AI, built on NVIDIA DGX B200 systems—the first of its kind in Greece—and powered by NVIDIA DGX Cloud, enhances intelligence in infrastructure management. It supports a range of specialized applications, including regulatory document analysis, AI-driven accounting services, and voice-based customer support, with plans to extend its reach into tourism assistance. Engineered for semantic precision and seamless integration with Greek data, Sophea.AI was trained using 100% sustainable energy, highlighting KIEFER’s dedication to sustainability and responsible AI development.
Hyperion-X represents a sophisticated AI platform for renewable energy trading, designed to streamline and optimize all facets of energy market operations. It acts as a fully digital energy trading department, capable of forecasting production, estimating electricity prices across various market segments, and executing real-time trading strategies to enhance profitability and mitigate risks. The platform ensures full compliance with regulations, securely connects with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and handles revenue distribution through transparent and auditable processes. It aims to serve utility companies and energy service providers, laying a scalable groundwork for the future of data-driven and automated energy markets.
“The name Sophea is derived from the ancient Greek word Sophia (wisdom), reflecting our strategic goal to elevate Greece as a leader in Artificial Intelligence, fostering technological independence and sustainability,” stated Christos Petrocheilos, CEO of KIEFER.
“Our participation in GTC Paris marks a significant milestone for both KIEFER and Greece,” Mr. Petrocheilos added. “Sophea.AI is the first Greek-developed LLM presented internationally, showcasing NVIDIA’s advanced technology and aligning with our fundamental principles of open innovation, energy transition, and national AI sovereignty.”
“Artificial intelligence is the most transformative technological force of our era,” remarked Calista Redmond, Vice President of Global AI Initiatives at NVIDIA. “Collaborating with partners like KIEFER, we envision nations using NVIDIA’s platform for sustainability, energy security, and AI autonomy—while also improving public services for citizens.”
The Greek delegation in Paris consisted of:
- Christos Petrocheilos (CEO)
- Stergios Statharas (Head of Energy Market Analysis)
- Themistocles Nikolis (AI/ML Engineer)
- Klaudia Koule (Head of Marketing & Communications)
