Fredi Beleris on Costas Arvanitis: He slanders Greece for the rule of law

EPP and New Democracy MEP Fredi Beleris criticized SYRIZA MEP Kostas Arvanitis in a social media post.

Beleris accused Arvanitis of launching a smear campaign against Greece, stating:
“While two government ministers were receiving praise from EU Commissioner Michael McGrath for Greece’s advancements in the rule of law, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance MEP Kostas Arvanitis was busy slandering our country during a session of the European Parliament’s ‘Shield for Democracy’ committee.”

He further noted, “Arvanitis even went so far as to criticize the ‘Truth Team’ and the public broadcaster ERT, recalling how it was viewed during SYRIZA’s administration, compared to its current management, which is appointed through a transparent ASEP competition. He also made unfounded claims about government interference in the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA).”
