The delay in activating these machines is due to two main factors: the absence of a charging station in the city center and employees’ hesitance to utilize them.
Concerns have been raised regarding the larger size of the machines, which some believe makes them difficult to maneuver. Additionally, former Deputy Mayor for Cleaning in Serres, Panagiotis Karakolidis, mentioned fears of GPS monitoring; however, it has been clarified that these vehicles are not equipped with such a system.
In contrast, other municipalities that have deployed similar wheelbarrows have found them to be highly beneficial, enhancing the efficiency of cleaning crews and improving service quality for residents.
The current challenge is to implement a solution that allows for the immediate use of these five machines, ensuring that the investment made will help improve the city’s cleanliness.
