A fire is currently ravaging forested areas in Almyropotamos, adjacent to the main road of Zarakas, on the route to Styra.
The blaze originated in a wooded region close to a small chapel.
At present, 40 firefighters are on-site, supported by 10 fire engines, two ground teams from the 4th and 20th EMODE units, along with one helicopter and two aircraft. Local government water tankers and volunteers are also playing a vital role in the firefighting efforts.
