Despite their troubling position in the Premier League (currently 17th, with Manchester United just above them in 16th), the team has faced further setbacks with the loss of three essential players in recent days.
Radu Drăgușin, a semi-regular center-back, has been sidelined since the start of the year due to a torn ACL. Coach Ange Postecoglou has also seen injuries to Madison, Bergwijn, and today the club confirmed that Dejan Kulusevski has undergone surgery.
Concern arose when Kulusevski was substituted during Sunday’s match against Crystal Palace, but the severity of his injury was not immediately apparent.
“Dejan Kulusevski had surgery on his kneecap today and will start his rehabilitation with our medical team right away,” the club announced. While there is no specific timeline for his recovery, it is clear that he will not be available for the Bilbao final on May 21.
