According to a police update, the man had placed the cash inside a box along with other recyclable items, unknowingly tossing it into the bin.
The deputy manager of the Plaisio store stumbled upon a modem box containing the 20,000 euros and immediately reported it to the police, exemplifying that honesty is still alive and well.

The cash had been inadvertently discarded by an elderly man who had intended to recycle the box, unaware of its contents. It was meant to pay for a renovation team!
