On Monday morning (February 6), a police operation took place in Megara, Attica, led by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Goods, part of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. This operation aimed to investigate reports regarding the storage and trafficking of weapons.
The operation was conducted with support from two judicial officers and included participation from various police units: the Sub-Directorate for Information and Special Operations, the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Against Life and Property, the Sub-Directorate for Narcotics, the Sub-Directorate for Economic Crimes, and the Sub-Directorate for the Restoration of Order from the Attica Police Operations Directorate.
Targeted searches were executed at six residences and three storage locations in the area, alongside checks on several individuals and vehicles.
As a result of the investigations, a 23-year-old woman was arrested. She now faces charges for violating weapon laws and for receiving and disposing of stolen property, with a co-defendant, a 24-year-old man.


In total, the following items were discovered and seized:
– One firearm with a barrel length of 17 cm,
– Three magazines,
– 116 cartridges,
– A military-style bayonet measuring 28.5 cm in total length (17 cm blade),
– 57 pieces of gold-colored jewelry (including chains, necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets),
– Eight mobile phones,
– A CCTV recorder along with seven cameras;
– A total of €675 in cash.
The arrested individual has been taken to the appropriate prosecuting authority.
