PPC is involved in the European research initiative RAIDO (101135800), which focuses on developing and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
This project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, aims to enhance the management of energy infrastructure, particularly concerning intermittent renewable energy sources. RAIDO brings together over 20 organizations from 10 European countries, coordinated by Slovenia’s Jožef Stefan Institute.
As AI technologies advance and the demand for optimized energy consumption grows, the need for smart, reliable, and efficient energy management solutions becomes crucial. The RAIDO project addresses this challenge by creating and implementing AI technologies that promote effective green energy usage, increase operational flexibility within energy systems, and help reduce CO2 emissions.
The development of AI systems in this project employs cutting-edge methodologies, such as digital twins and diffusion models, to generate dependable and unbiased training data. Furthermore, “Green” Artificial Intelligence (Green AI) tools are integrated with machine learning techniques, including few-shot and zero-shot learning, to minimize data requirements while maximizing AI models’ energy efficiency.
Pilot Application of AI Technologies
As part of RAIDO, PPC will launch a pilot application of AI technologies in a carefully regulated energy infrastructure setting, utilizing its expertise and existing platforms. This initiative aligns with PPC’s strategy to enhance energy efficiency and foster innovative digital solutions that support sustainable development and the green transition. The project aims to test AI tools under real-world conditions and assess their effectiveness, ensuring they cater to the specific needs of the energy sector.
Currently in its second year, the project has already introduced its first pilot application scenarios. PPC is actively engaged as a key partner in a pilot application focused on testing AI technologies in the operation and management of its energy infrastructure.
By consistently investing in green energy, smart infrastructure, and technology, PPC Group is helping to shape the future of energy. In this context, PPC’s transformation into a Powertech company is a logical progression. Participation in research projects like RAIDO reflects PPC Group’s broader strategy in Artificial Intelligence and demonstrates its commitment to innovation, supporting a sustainable, digital, and efficient energy future for Greece and the surrounding region.
