A deceased man, in an advanced state of decomposition, was discovered on the rocks at Kionio Beach in Icaria.
The authorities were promptly alerted, with officers dispatched to the scene on land and a Coast Guard patrol boat involved in the operation.
Additionally, the operation was supported by a marine patrol and a police boat.
Coast Guard officials retrieved the body from the rocks. The man was approximately 1.70 meters tall with a normal build.
The remains were transported to the port of Vathios in Samos and then taken to the General Hospital of Samos for an autopsy.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Port Station Evdilos Ikaria of the Port Authority of Samos.
