A 21-year-old man has been charged with premeditated murder after allegedly killing his mother in Larissa. He also faces charges for illegal firearm possession, weapon use, and drug possession. He is required to appear in court on Friday.
Additionally, his 22-year-old cousin, who was involved in an attempt to move the 52-year-old woman’s body wrapped in a sheet and blanket, has been charged with aiding a criminal and must appear in court on Wednesday.
Police investigations revealed that the 21-year-old displayed no remorse after the incident; he reportedly spent hours planning how to dispose of the body and even cleaned the house to eliminate evidence. Reports indicate he fatally stabbed his mother in the chest and abdomen with a 10-centimeter blade, later disposing of the weapon and her personal belongings in a trash bin.
The fatal confrontation stemmed from a financial dispute; the mother reportedly confronted her son for not contributing to their shared household established three months prior on Leonidou Street.
Neighbors reported hearing the 52-year-old calling for help shortly before 5 a.m., after which there was silence.
During police questioning, the 21-year-old attempted to justify his actions, claiming, “She hated me, that’s why I killed her.”
