Colombia: 39-year-old presidential candidate Miguel Uribe was shot with six bullets – His condition is critical (updated)

A gunman shot Miguel Uribe, a Colombian presidential candidate, yesterday in a suburb of Bogotá, the capital.

In footage shared by Colombian media, the 39-year-old senator, who is campaigning for the presidential election set for next May, can be seen bleeding while being supported by colleagues.

He was quickly taken to the hospital, where his condition is reported as critical, according to La República. The newspaper stated that Uribe was shot six times, with colleagues crying out, “They killed him, they killed him!” while desperately seeking help.
