A significant wildfire is currently raging, having ignited in the early hours of Sunday, June 22, in Tsakaii, located in Southern Evia.
The blaze began in a wooded area, prompting the police to evacuate a hotel situated between Tsakaii and Nea Styra. An emergency alert (112) has been issued to local residents, advising them to remain vigilant and adhere to official guidance.
Robust firefighting efforts are underway, involving 65 firefighters and 19 vehicles, as well as 4 ground teams (forest commandos). Aerial support includes two planes and one helicopter.

Lefteris Raviolos, the mayor of Karystos, informed evima.gr: “The fire is extensive and burning through forested land. A 112 alert has been dispatched to residents. We have a substantial ground presence, and I have also secured aerial assistance.”

Residents of Tsakaii report that the fire is progressing towards Nea Styra.
