The movie is anticipated to delve into the summer of 1976, during which a young Anthony Bourdain worked at a restaurant in Provincetown, Massachusetts—an influential period that greatly contributed to his eventual status as a global icon in gastronomy and travel entertainment.
Currently, the production is in its early phases, with filming scheduled to begin next month. Matt Johnson is at the helm of direction, while the screenplay is crafted by Todd Bartels and Lou Howe. Notably, Antonio Banderas will join the cast, although the specifics of his role remain undisclosed.
Following his work in Alexander Payne’s film, Dominic Sessa has wrapped up three additional movie projects, including the sequel *Now You See Me: Now You Don’t* featuring Jesse Eisenberg and Mark Ruffalo, the Christmas comedy *Oh. What. Fun* with Michelle Pfeiffer, and the courtroom drama *Tow*, based on real events, in which he stars alongside Rose Byrne. Antonio Banderas continues to thrive, recently appearing in the drama *Babygirl* with Nicole Kidman and playing a rival in the children’s film *Paddington in Peru*.

The documentary *Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain*, directed by Morgan Neville, explored various facets of his public and personal life, and this new film project aims to uncover the origins of his remarkable journey.
