The Athens Prosecutor’s Office has initiated misdemeanor charges for child endangerment against the grandmother of the infant discovered near a garbage bin in Alimos.
Following the charges, the infant’s grandmother has been summoned to the Court of Athens.
In addition, the nanny of the 6-month-old baby, found yesterday afternoon in the garbage bins in Alimos and suspected to be a victim of infant trafficking, is under police investigation. Eyewitness accounts from the Omonia area suggest a “suspicious” interaction between the grandmother and a man who took the child.
