Andreas Loverdos announced the news of her passing.
Alexia Tsatsou was a member of the Athens Bar Association and served on the board of the Center for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation. Additionally, she was a board member at the Dimitris Tsatsos Institute for European Constitutional Studies.

Tsatsou practiced at the State Legal Council and worked as a research and documentation manager for 19th-century paintings at the auction house Christie’s. Her career included roles at the Center for European Constitutional Law, the Max-Planck Institute in Munich, and as a legal advisor assistant at the National Technical University of Athens. She was also involved as a volunteer with the Merimna Association, various animal welfare organizations, and the Smile of the Child.
She collaborated with the Legal Technical Advisor on urban planning, spatial development, and environmental regulations in relation to Greece’s bid for the World Expo. Furthermore, she served as a special advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Alexia was married to economist Nasos Hatzi Dimitriou and was the mother of two children.
The Tsatsos Foundation released a statement expressing their sorrow at the loss of Alexia Tsatsou. The statement reads:
“The Board of Directors of the Center for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of our long-time member and daughter of the foundation’s founder, Alexia Tsatsou.
Her invaluable contributions to our Foundation will always be remembered. With heavy hearts, the board bids her farewell.
To honor her legacy and contributions, the board has resolved:
- To extend heartfelt condolences to her family.
- To lay a wreath at her funeral and send a delegation, led by the Foundation’s President, to attend.
- To make a donation to SOS Children’s Villages, as per her family’s wishes.
- To publish this resolution and post it on the Foundation’s website.”
