According to eyewitnesses, the taxi driver was speeding and attempted an overtaking maneuver from the left, resulting in a collision with the garbage truck. The victim was positioned at the rear of the truck, as is customary for sanitation staff.
A passenger in the taxi suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Red Cross Hospital by ambulance, while the driver reportedly emerged unscathed.
