Η γνωστή influencer tragically suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away following a cosmetic surgery she underwent in Turkey.
Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini, 31, traveled from Mozambique to Istanbul last Friday with her husband, Elgar Miles, for a variety of aesthetic procedures.
According to the local news outlet O Tempo, Buldrini signed a contract for breast augmentation, liposuction, and rhinoplasty in exchange for promoting Tusa Hospital in Istanbul on social media.
“She wanted these procedures to enhance her physical appearance. It was a dream of hers,” Miles told the media, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The couple, who had just married the previous month, requested to reschedule their procedure, which was initially set for Wednesday, to allow an extra day for recovery.
“Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to move it up to Sunday,” Miles explained, noting that the surgery took place just hours after they had spent time socializing with the doctor.
“We went to the clinic on Sunday simply to see the place, but the doctor wanted to proceed with the surgery without Ana being fully prepared.” Despite their previous night out with the doctor, Miles claims that his wife was convinced to go ahead with the operation just hours later.
“The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine,” Miles said to local news outlet G1.
As a result, Buldrini—who boasted 797,000 Instagram followers and frequently shared song videos on the platform—underwent surgery the following day, waking up from anesthesia around 11 PM on Sunday.
Miles stated that he received a photo of his wife recovering and was informed she was still under anesthesia.
“They told me to go to the room, but the staff was acting strangely. I waited for over an hour to pick her up,” he described. Hours later, doctors informed him that she had died.
“I went down to the ground floor and one doctor said her heart was beating slowly, while another said she was already dead.” The doctors were questioned at the medical center but were later released by the police.
Tusa Hospital has since denied any negligence, stating that its staff attempted to revive Buldrini after her procedure.
