The National Bank recently hosted a delegation from Yale University, alongside a working lunch aimed at tackling global challenges.
The Chairman of the National Bank’s Board of Directors, Professor Gikas Hardouvelis, welcomed a group of Yale professors led by President Professor Maurie McInnis. They engaged in extensive discussions during their visit.
Kyriakos Sabatakakis, President of the Yale Alumni Association of Greece, remarked, “This visit strengthens the deep connections between Yale and Greece, emphasizing our shared commitment to addressing global challenges through collaboration and knowledge.”
In response, Hardouvelis noted, “Yale’s association with Greece is longstanding and significant, reflecting the evolving relationship between Greece and the United States. For over 300 years, Yale has set a benchmark for educational excellence, just as the National Bank of Greece has been a foundation of stability and excellence for the nation since its establishment in 1841.”
The visit was part of Yale University’s global initiative “Yale for Humanity,” launched in the fall of 2021, which focuses on confronting issues like climate change, public health, scientific research, and sustainability.
