In Ulsan, South Korea, the Greek flag flew proudly twice and the national anthem resonated as the Tsakos Group celebrated the naming ceremony for its two newly constructed tankers.
Each tanker, valued at $85 million and capable of carrying 156,800 tons, has already been time-chartered by the French company TOTAL for five years, with an option for extension beyond a decade.
According to the shipbuilding schedule currently in progress, TEN is set to receive an additional 17 vessels between the first quarter of 2026 and the fourth quarter of 2028.
This expansion includes 10 shuttle tankers and 7 product tankers, bringing Tsakos Energy Navigation’s total fleet to 82 ships.
“We take pride in our growth model, which is continuously evolving and yielding improved financial results compared to last year. Concurrently, we are modernizing our fleet,” stated Dr. Nikos Tsakos, founder and CEO of TEN.
