Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is attending the United Nations Ocean Conference, which commenced today in Nice, France.
The conference will focus on pressing global issues such as climate change, marine pollution, biodiversity, and sustainable fishing practices.
In his national address during the plenary session of the 3rd UN Ocean Conference, Mitsotakis revealed that Greece plans to establish two new national marine parks—one in the Ionian Sea and another in the southern Cyclades—by the end of this month.
The Greek Prime Minister also highlighted maritime security concerns, emphasizing that the decarbonization of the shipping industry requires a comprehensive approach to be truly effective.
